Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Panasonic Finance Co., Ltd. to Relocate Headquarters to Supertall Building Directly Connected to Hamamatsucho Station

Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Panasonic Finance Co., Ltd. will relocate its headquarters from Seavans S Building in Shibaura, Minato Ward, to the World Trade Center Building Main, which is directly connected to Hamamatsucho Station.
Seavans S Building, the company’s current headquarters, was completed in 1991 and is a 35-year-old office building. It underwent a major renovation in 2012 and is equipped with a hybrid seismic control system and BCP-related facilities, but it is located a seven-minute walk from Hamamatsucho Station. In contrast, the World Trade Center Building Main, the relocation destination, is a 46-story supertall tower scheduled for completion in March 2027 and will be directly connected to Hamamatsucho Station and Daimon Station. The typical floor plate will total approximately 847 tsubo (approx. 30,139 sq. ft.), with ceiling heights of 2,900 mm or more, and the building will offer up-to-date specifications including a seismic control structure and planned ZEB Ready certification. For the company, the move will mean relocating to a state-of-the-art office building with significantly improved transit access.
Large-scale redevelopment is underway in the Hamamatsucho area. In the Hamamatsucho 2-Chome District 4 project, which includes the reconstruction of the World Trade Center Building, a major development comprising multiple supertall towers is progressing. In 2027, the World Trade Center Building Main is scheduled for completion, and luxury hotel Raffles Tokyo will make its first entry into Japan. In the adjacent Shibaura area, BLUE FRONT SHIBAURA, a project led by Nomura Real Estate and others with a total gross floor area of approximately 550,000 sq m, has been opening in phases since 2025, further strengthening the broader area’s function as an international business hub.
