Dai Nippon Toryo to Relocate Headquarters to OBIC Midosuji Building in Osaka
Dai Nippon Toryo Co., Ltd. will relocate its head office to the OBIC Midosuji Building in Chuo Ward, Osaka, in October 2026. The company’s current headquarters is located in the SR Building Nagahori in Minamisenba 1-chome, also within Chuo Ward, making this an intra-ward relocation. Dai Nippon Toryo moved to its current headquarters from Konohana Ward in 2019, meaning this will be its second relocation in seven years.
While the previous move was driven by the aging of its former company-owned building, the upcoming relocation represents a more proactive office investment aligned with the company’s medium-term management plan.
The OBIC Midosuji Building, completed in 2020, is one of Osaka’s flagship high-spec office buildings and was the first project developed under the relaxed height regulations along Midosuji Boulevard. The building rises 25 stories above ground with two basement levels, offers a typical floor plate of approximately 568 tsubo (approx. 20,200 sq. ft.), and features a ceiling height of 3,000 mm. Dai Nippon Toryo plans to consolidate its head office functions onto a single floor, aiming to enhance interdepartmental collaboration and create a workplace environment that enables employees to take more initiative.
Under its medium-term management plan launched in fiscal 2024, the company has identified the “optimal utilization of organizational resources, including human capital,” and “improvement of the workplace environment” as key initiatives. Looking ahead to its 100th anniversary in fiscal 2029, Dai Nippon Toryo has set a target of JPY 100.0 billion in net sales (compared with approximately JPY 72.0 billion in fiscal 2023). At the same time, the company has acknowledged that its full-scale efforts in human capital management are still at an early stage. Against this backdrop, the relocation is positioned as a growth investment, and the move to a highly accessible office building along Midosuji is also seen as a step to strengthen its competitiveness in recruitment.
