Haseko Sohgoh Development. and Sankei Building broke ground on July 22 on a large-scale logistics facility in Shinminato, Mihama-ku, Chiba City, designed to handle three temperature zones. The facility, with a gross floor area of approximately 16,516 tsubo (approx. 54,600 sq. ft.), is scheduled for completion in June 2027. Leveraging direct access to the Shuto Expressway Bayshore Route and the Higashi-Kanto Expressway, the property will function as a wide-area distribution hub covering the entire Greater Tokyo area.
The four-story building will feature truck berths on the 1st and 3rd floors via a ramp system. The 1st and 2nd floors will be dedicated to refrigerated and frozen storage, while the 3rd and 4th floors will serve as ambient-temperature warehouses, addressing diverse temperature-controlled logistics needs. Two lounges on the top floor overlooking the ocean will enhance workplace comfort. The facility will also incorporate BCP-compliant features such as emergency generators and an environmentally friendly non-CFC refrigeration system using CO₂ refrigerants.
