Kokuyo to Relocate Headquarters to Grand Green Osaka in Umeda After 90 Years

Kokuyo to Relocate Headquarters to Grand Green Osaka in Umeda After 90 Years

Kokuyo Co., Ltd. will relocate its headquarters effective May 1, 2026. The new location will be the 14th floor of Grand Green Osaka Park Tower in Ofukacho, Kita Ward, Osaka. The move marks the company’s first headquarters relocation in approximately 90 years, departing from its current site in Higashinari Ward, Osaka.

Kokuyo decided to move to Umeda—an area with a high concentration of major corporations—in order to consolidate its administrative and business divisions, which have been split between the Higashinari headquarters and its Umeda office, onto a single floor.

Grand Green Osaka Park Tower is a high-rise office tower completed in November 2024 and directly connected to JR Osaka Station. With a typical floor plate of approximately 1,256 tsubo (approx. 41,520 sq. ft.), it is one of the largest in the Kansai region. Shionogi & Co., Ltd. relocated its global headquarters to the building in November 2025, and Kubota Corporation and Air Water Inc. are also planning head office relocations there. The combined market capitalization of tenant companies is expected to exceed JPY 5 trillion. The area—often referred to as “Osaka’s last prime development site”—is seeing an accelerating influx of major corporations (see related article: Trip.com Relocates Branch Office to Grand Green Osaka).

Regarding the current headquarters property that will be vacated, Kokuyo is considering a potential sale from the standpoint of optimizing asset efficiency and pursuing the highest and best use of the site.
