Cosmos Initia to Develop Apartment Hotel in Shinsaibashi
Cosmos Initia will pursue its planned development of the urban apartment hotel MIMARU in Higashi-Shinsaibashi 1-chome, Chuo Ward, Osaka, through a real estate securitization scheme utilizing a tokutei mokuteki kaisha (TMK, special purpose company). Asset management operations will be handled by Cosmos Initia Real Estate Investment Advisory Co., Ltd., which was established in October 2025, marking the subsidiary's first project.
The planned site is a two-minute walk from Nagahoribashi Station on the Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line. The facility is planned to have 98 guest rooms, with construction scheduled to start in November 2027 and opening planned for September 2029.
MIMARU is an urban apartment hotel brand catering to the mid- to long-stay needs of inbound tourist families and groups. The brand has expanded across Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, with multiple properties already operating in the Shinsaibashi area. Through this project, the company aims to diversify its financing methods while enhancing brand recognition in the area and improving efficiency in customer acquisition and operations. Cosmos Initia will continue to utilize securitization schemes to expand the MIMARU brand's footprint and strengthen its investment management business.
