Nomura Real Estate, Partners Complete Mixed-Use Redevelopment at West Exit of Urawa Station

Urawa Calue, a mixed-use complex developed under the Urawa Station West Exit Minami-Takasago District Type 1 Urban Redevelopment Project, was completed in May 2026. Nomura Real Estate Development, Mitsubishi Jisho Residence and Daiwa House Industry are participating in the project, which covers approximately 1.8 hectares at the west exit of JR Urawa Station.
The building has 27 floors above ground and two basement levels, with a Gross Floor Area of approximately 29,611 tsubo (approx. 1,053,600 sq. ft.). The residential portion, URAWA THE TOWER, occupies the sixth through 27th floors and consists of 525 units with layouts ranging from 1LDK to 4LDK. The lower levels, from the first basement floor through the fourth floor above ground, will house retail and office space. Shimin Kaikan Urawa, a public hall that had been located a 10-minute walk from Urawa Station, will also relocate into the complex and is scheduled to open in 2027 under the nickname Urawa U Hall.
While the west exit of Urawa Station has a concentration of administrative and commercial functions, redevelopment had not progressed since the station plaza was designated under city planning in 1963, leaving aging buildings and underutilized land as issues for the area. The project reorganized these blocks and developed them into a mixed-use complex in front of the station with residential, retail, office, public and civic functions. Around Urawa Station, Saitama City Hall’s main government building is scheduled to relocate to Saitama-Shintoshin around fiscal 2031, drawing attention to future use of the current city hall site.
