Hankyu Hanshin Properties Joins Second Detached For-Sale Housing Project in Texas

Hankyu Hanshin Properties will join a portion of the “Meraki” township development in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metropolitan area of Texas in collaboration with U.S. developer Bridge Tower Homes. The company will develop and market 31 detached homes, with completion scheduled to begin sequentially from fall 2026. Following “Saddlebrook” in Collins (97 homes; contract signed in January 2026), this marks the company’s second project in the United States, which will be advanced through its local subsidiary.
The project site is located in the Forney area of Kaufman County, about 40 kilometers east of downtown Dallas, with a site area of approximately 13,800 square meters (approx. 148,540 sq. ft.) (about 1.4 hectares). The site offers convenient access to highways and is highly popular as a bedroom community with about a 35-minute drive to central Dallas. The overall “Meraki” development will comprise more than 2,700 homes.
The company has been expanding its overseas real estate business mainly in ASEAN countries including Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines, and also entered India in February 2026. With this project, its cumulative total has reached 70 projects (approximately 74,980 homes). In the United States, the company is also participating in multiple rental housing developments in the DFW metropolitan area and positions the region as a priority market.
The DFW metropolitan area is the fourth-largest metro area in the United States, with a population of approximately 8.34 million, and more than 100 corporate headquarters have relocated there since 2018, supported by the absence of a corporate income tax. In 2024, the area ranked first in the nation for new housing construction permits, with approximately 71,800 permits issued.
